Side "Walk Right In"
Here
it is, the Red Bennies brand new hit album,"Glass Hands". It features
guest appearence from the AF Jr. Caveman Players on a few tracks. It was
recorded just as Scott left the group- thanks, Scott, for playing on these
recordings first. Scott did the original tracking/mixing for Don't Stop,
In the Dark, and To Get Your Attention. Band members are David Payne, Scott
Selfridge, Terrence Warburton, Dan Thomas. Mostly recorded practices in
the basement of the Westgate Business Center, where the band currenty shares
a room with 
Album
"Shake It Off" signifies the first attempt at some Hi-Fi music
since "Announcing", and also Paul Butterfield's last album. Mixed/Mastered
by David Payne, recorded by Jeremy Smith at the Moroccan. Album released
by Chad Murphy and his 
This
album contains selections from the EP's "Yes It's Lo-Fi 2
'With a Hug'", recorded by Scott Selfridge at the Urban Lounge, and
"Watch Your Language, engineered by Ned Clayton at KRCL radio, plus
some tracks were 4-tracked at rehearsal. All tracks are live, Mixed/Mastered
by David Payne. Features members from multiple lineup
changes over the 3 years it documents, including Mike Sartain of 
The
album "Announcing" was released just as Eli Morrison and Nate
Pysher left the group- Mike Sartain and Terrence Warburton joined. This
album was an attempt to quickly represent the new group. It was intended
to by Hi-Fi but half the tracks on the duo reel to reel mixing console broke
at the last minute (after the session). Nothing stops the release of a fine
album on schedule. Mixed/mastered by David Payne. Recorded at the Moroccan.
This
album represents the greatest effort from the group with their older, more
caustic sound. Only album with Nate Pysher on drums. First album mixed by
David Payne. Recorded at the Moroccan by Andy Patterson, and mixed for long
hours at Eli's house while enjoying Jigglers and Brownie Hill, until Andy
went touring in New York and Dave got to take the computer home with him.
It still sounds just right on the speakers used for the process. First heavy
usage of Organ in the group (played by David). This was released by Dren
and his label 
This
album "Soul 002", commonly referred to as "The Chicken Album"
on account of the fine chicken art on the cover compliments of Kyrbir, was
reluctantly (just after the finishing of "Hey Rocker") recorded
by the group by Josh Stippich, at Kyrbir's request, who wanted to release
these songs which were slightly older than those on Hey Rocker.. Mixed/Mastered
by Josh Stippich, and released on Kyrbir's 
This,
"Hey Rocker", was Red Bennies first attempt at a fine CD. Recorded,
mixed/mastered by Josh Stippich, paid for by Leena Rinne, and released on
Kyrbir's 
This
album was entirely bought and paid for by Kyrbir's own 
The
album "Famil" was dubbed by hand to cassette (with only the left
side copied on many) and then released on Kyrbir's 
Circus
Brown has a radio show on KRCL Community Radio called "Circus Brown's
Not a Side Show". He was kind enough to have us on one afternoon. This
was tracked by his technician, Connery, and then mixed/masted by David Payne.
These feature the current line-up, Dave, Scott, Terrence, and Dan. Links
While
on a weekend concert trip to the SF bay area (where Scott is from), we stopped
at his friend Vadim's studio and dropped 300$ of our stingily hoarded money
for these tracks. These are mixed by Scott and mastered by Dave. The tracks
for the 7" "Walk Right In" are from this session, and the
rest was abandoned, and recently stumbled upon. Josh Knight played drums
on these, joined by Terrence, Dave, Scott, and Paul.
As
he was nervous about his first lone effort to finish an album , "Announcing",
David thought he'd do a test run first. This is a pre-production test of
the batch of songs done on four-track at Moroccan rehearsals, with organ
and vocal overdubs. Years later, Eli thought it sounded particularly visceral
and fuzzy, and re-released it in a small run on his own label,

"Tusk
Task: Tsk, Tsk, Tsk," is a compilation of live rehearsal tracks, lineup
changes, and studio projects over the history of the group. Original lineup
is David Payne: guitorgan/guitar, Leena Rinne: bass, Dan Thomas: drums.
In 2007, Leena and Dave had baby girl twins which all but halted their ability
to hold joint membership in the group, and the band was joined by Terrence
Warburton on bass and then guitar (as babysitters were found). This also
led to some songs recorded by Dave alone, as well as the development of
the "Glinting Gems B Squad", which is a soft interpretation of
Gems pieces (as well as Red Bennies pieces and others) on the drums, bass,
and electric sitar, intended for soft concerts at the Urban Lounge's sunday
night "Time To Talk 'Tween Tunes" that David hosted. "B Squad".
consists of Dave, 
"And
The Cows Came Home in Pirouette" was recorded by Scott Selfridge at
the Westgate Business Center, and is the only album exclusively representing
the lineup Kyrbir: vocals, Eli Morrison: guitar, James Acton: drums, Jesse
Winter: keys, Derwood Hutchison: Bass, (with Scott singing some cool backups
now and then), which was a steady lineup for a long time, and the album
distinctly shows the hard rockin' tightness of the roster. Many of these
songs are in their current set, as Eli and Derwood have been replaced by
Terrence Warburton on guitar, Scott on bass, and David Payne on keytar.
"Salt
Lake City" was polished and compiled by David Payne and Kyrbir at Arcade
Game Studios in Sugarhouse. It features tracks made by Jeremy Smith, Eli
Morrison, David, and Andy Patterson. Perpetuas Greening is taken from the
Urban Lounge concert on this page. That's a picture of Jeff Fogt cutting
Kyrbir's hair. He recorded the Red Bennies album "Life as I Know It".
This album was made during a emptiness of proper bandmate-age, and some
of these songs never made it to the big stage.
"Bionic
Fresh Moves" was mixed/mastered by David Payne. It features a long
list of hit songs, covers, and repeats in a conglomeration of dance beats
and heavy metal screams. 
"Soft
Fluff" was recorded/mixed/mastered by David Payne at Backroom Studios
on Broadway. Great work from the Purr Bat's first lineup after Kyrbir's
triumphant return from London and the five year hiatus of his original group
"Puri-do". Deep Deep in the Cornfield is a Puri-do hit. Dodo and
Gluehorse actually preceed Puri-do and were originally hits of the slightly
older group "Mary Throwing Stones". The Sheep have been Reapholstered
was a hit of Kyrbir's post-Puri-do band Hooo that he had in Seattle. Lineup
is David: keys, Scott Selfridge: guitar, Amber Jarvis: drums, Paul Butterfield:
bass.
David
recorded this on Alesis Digital Audio Tape during a birthday show for Kyrbir
plus CD release of "Soft Fluff". Scott says, "Bartender?
Where are our beers? I ordered five beers forever ago".
Sleeping
Bag got together to play Bad Brad Wheeler's radio show on KRCL. Sleeping
Bag was an effort on Kyrbir's part to put lots of his softer and moodier
songs in one spot. As such, all but two of these are covers from his previous
groups. This is played by Leena Rinne on guitar, David Payne on keys, Derwood
Hutchison on bass, and James Acton on drums. Mixed/mastered by Dave.
These
couple songs were recorded originally for S.L.U.G. magazines "Death
by Salt" music compilations. Music for "You Become and Ex Blackhole"
recorded by David at Spaceship 1 Studios and "The Sleep" by Kyrbir's
friend in London.
This
album, "Quality Sleep Time", represents the final effort of the
band Puri-do. It was recorded and mastered by Josh Stippich, and played
by Kyrbir, Eli Morrison, and David Payne. Kyrbir had moved to seattle for
a bit (where he did his band Hooo) and had returned for a summer before
his long move to london. Dr. Anthony J. Snow and Derwood Anne H played some
little parts, as well as Paul Butterfield and Brian Pfrenz-c. The current
"official" performing group at this time consisted of Anthony
Snow, Derwood Hutchison, Eli Morrison, David Payne, Kyrbir, and Matt Barlow,
but the album was recorded as a rogue move by Dave and Eli as the group
had grown apart. All the songs labeled "Sleep" are brief soundscape
bits (mostly stiring a bowl full of jars of pills at Inma's house one day
captured in high-def David's four-track), and the album was meant to be
listened to in order (perhaps inducing a nap?). The album turned out very
nice. It was made in the era of CD's, and a CD release was planned, but
as the performing group didn't really exist and Kyrbir was going to move
back to london, it only saw a cassette tape release, so this is probably
your only chance to hear it, although, the band "Sleeping Bag",
which was formed for the sole purpose of putting songs on Slug Magazine's
"Death By Salt" music compilations, and for playing two lonely
shows-- but with the ideal of starting a regular band to play soft and beautiful
music-- revived many of these songs. 
The
album "Ghoul Band" consists of Ether Orchestras hard work in up
to three decrepit and mouldering basements. Band is Ryley Fogg on Rhodes,
Jesse Beacom on Guitar, Scott Selfridge on Bass, and David Payne on Drums.
Paul Butterfield plays bass on most of these tracks, however. Close sounding
tracks recorded by Scott Selfridgein the dank basement where he lived with
Judd Powel. Rest mixed or mastered by David Payne.
"All
Your Brave Junkie Tomorrows" was recorded, composed, and produced during
the last days of the first "
"Live
at Sage House" was recorded on Four-Track in the living room at 'Sage
House' which was the nickname of the house where Terrence Warburton and
Scott Selfridge lived. Terrence on drums, Scott on guitar and vocals, and
David on electric piano. This was the only official Coyote Hoods album ever
released, although much Coyote Hoods has been recorded. Here is a photo
of the group at that time, in lieu of the album's cover, which was a blank
piece of paper and some leaves thrown inside a plastic baggie. That rad
sign above us was authored by Judd, who shared space at the Moroccan and
maintained his recording studio there. Emily Allen took the picture.
"5
New" was recording by Scott all alone as he lived in the apartment
with Mike Marcinek next to Amber Jarvis's house.
"For
Booking Call David Payne 502-7256" was compiled from all the same stuff
as the last album minus Sean's recordings and including some Moroccan ADAT
recordings that Dave made. Most of these songs are the same, but there's
a few specials on here. Differences listed in bold.
"Recordings
from Sean's Basement and Beyond" was a bold attempt to rustle up some
material for "1997XF11". There's a few new hits here marked in
bold again. "Neon on Chrome" and "While You were Walking"
were done by Dave at the moroccan on some kind of tape machine- probably
his 8-track 1/4" Tascam combo before it broke during the Red Bennies
album, "Yes it's Lo-Fi: With a Hug".
"The
Last Blue Spark" is a years-later-found recording of the groups last
batch of songs (now playing under the name "Blue Sparks") recorded
by Dave on Four-Track just previous to the bands dissolution. Terrence Warburton
played bass on all these.
Stiletto
released this tri-single, recorded/mixed/mastered by David Payne at Moroccan.
The band is Rebecca Vernon: drums, Leena Rinne: bass, Julie Stutznegger:
guitar, Carrie Wakefield: vocals. The group went on after this for years
with Julie on lead vocals until she started 
"The
Heaters", mixed/mastered by David Payne featured Joe Denhalter on vocals
who now sings backup for 
"Wolfs
at Urban Lounge #2" is made on the Alesis Digital Audio Tape machine
at the Urban Lounge. I don't think it features the people in this picture,
but oh well. Look up 
"Wolfs
at Urban Lounge #1" was recorded on adat during a show celebrating
Jeremy Smith's birthday. Real dirty show! Don't listen to this if you're
a kid.

have to find the the jacket for this album to learn the names of the songs

"Tomorrow
We Break Up, Tonight We Record" was recorded at the Moroccan just after
a trip across country in which Erik paid for Dave to go on the tour, and
Dave spent the money on used Nintendo games. The band had Nate Pysher and
James Acton on drums, Ben Dodds of Bass, and Erik Bliss on guitar and singing,
but this year featured David Payne on drums and Julie Lakey of vocals. Please

"RNR
001" is the first CD release from the Rock'n'Roll Academy in North
Salt Lake. It features the work of the bands Class Act, Depraved Indiference,
and Thunderwear. There were some cool cover songs on the CD, but I've mostly
left them out here. The next CD will be all original music. Yay! The Rock'n'Roll
Academy is a contemporary music art school with a focus on personal expression

"Yours
Truly" Is Robin Fults playing the piano and singing. Some of this was
